Responsible Gambling at jjwian

Gambling should be an enjoyable form of entertainment — not a source of stress, financial difficulty or harm. This page explains the tools, resources and commitments jjwian has in place to help you stay in control at all times.

Adults 18+ only — or the higher minimum required by the operator/license jurisdiction. Local laws in Pakistan may impose additional restrictions.

Gambling as Entertainment — Staying in Control

For the vast majority of players, sports betting and online casino games are a legitimate form of entertainment. Watching a PSL match between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars is more engaging when you have a stake on the line — and for most people, that is exactly what it remains: a bit of added excitement on top of something they already enjoy.

But gambling can become a problem for some individuals, regardless of where they are from or how experienced they are. At jjwian, we take this seriously. Responsible gambling is not a policy document buried in a footer — it is a set of real, working tools built directly into your account, alongside a support pathway that is clear and accessible.

The tools described on this page are available to all registered users. You do not need to contact support to use them. Deposit limits, loss caps, session timers and self-exclusion are all accessible directly from your Account Settings at any time. We strongly encourage every user on the platform — whether you are based in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi or anywhere else — to be aware of these controls before they are ever needed.

If you are concerned that gambling is having a negative impact on your finances, relationships or mental wellbeing, please use the self-exclusion tool immediately and seek support. We will always prioritise player safety over platform engagement.

Healthy Play vs. Problem Play

Understanding the difference between recreational gambling and harmful gambling is the first step to staying in control.

✓ Healthy Play

  • You play within a set budget
  • Losses do not affect daily life
  • You stop when you choose to
  • It is one leisure activity among many
  • You accept losses as entertainment cost

⚠ Problem Signals

  • Chasing losses after a bad session
  • Borrowing money to fund gambling
  • Neglecting family or work obligations
  • Feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling
  • Hiding gambling activity from others

Your Responsible Gambling Toolkit

Every one of these tools is available directly in your jjwian Account Settings — no support ticket required. They activate promptly and are designed to help, not hinder.

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit cap directly from your account dashboard. Once a limit is in place, it cannot be raised without a mandatory waiting period — protecting you from impulsive decisions made in the moment.

Loss Limits

Specify the maximum amount in PKR that you are comfortable losing within a given period. When you reach that threshold, further Wagers will be blocked for the remainder of the period — regardless of your available balance.

Session Time Reminders

It is easy to lose track of time during a live cricket match or an extended casino session. Session timers send you a notification after a defined period, giving you the opportunity to review your activity and decide whether to continue.

Cooling-Off Period

If you want to take a short break without committing to full self-exclusion, a cooling-off period temporarily suspends your ability to wager. Available in durations of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days or 30 days — your choice.

Self-Exclusion

The strongest tool available. Self-exclusion locks your account for a defined period — or indefinitely. It activates immediately, cannot be reversed during the elected period, and prevents re-registration attempts. Use it if gambling is causing harm.

Account Activity Review

Your account includes a full transaction and wagering history. Reviewing your deposit, withdrawal and bet history regularly is one of the most effective ways to stay aware of your gambling behaviour over time.

Understanding Your Limit Controls

Limits are your first line of defence against overspending. Here is how each category works on jjwian.

Daily
Daily Deposit Limit

Caps the total amount you can deposit within any rolling 24-hour period. Resets at midnight PKT (Pakistan Standard Time).

Weekly
Weekly Limit

A 7-day cap on deposits or losses, measured from Monday 00:00 PKT to Sunday 23:59 PKT. Gives you an overview that matches a natural spending cycle.

Monthly
Monthly Limit

The longest standard period — ideal for users who manage spending on a monthly household budget. Resets on the 1st of each calendar month at 00:00 PKT.

Important
Increasing a Limit

Limits can be decreased immediately. Any request to increase a limit is subject to a mandatory cooling-off period before the increase takes effect — protecting you against impulsive decisions.

💡 Tip: Setting a realistic deposit limit before your first wager — even a generous one — is one of the most effective responsible gambling practices. It removes the decision-making burden from moments of emotional engagement (like a close PSL final or a late-night casino session) and puts the control firmly with your calm, prior self.

How to Self-Exclude from jjwian

Self-exclusion is available to any jjwian user at any time. It is the most comprehensive player protection tool on the Platform and is designed for users who feel their gambling has reached a point where they need a firm break.

When you self-exclude, your account is locked immediately. You will not be able to log in, deposit or place Wagers for the duration of your chosen exclusion period. Any pending withdrawal requests will be processed and funds returned to you.

Self-exclusion cannot be reversed during the elected period. Any attempts to re-register under a different email or identity will be blocked where technically possible. If you approach the end of an exclusion period, you will receive a notification and a mandatory reflection period before the account can be reopened.

🚨 If you are in distress: Please do not wait — use the self-exclusion option in your account settings now, or contact our live chat team immediately and ask them to apply an emergency account suspension.

Activating Self-Exclusion

  1. Log In to Your jjwian Account

Access your account from any device. You do not need to contact support — the tool is available 24/7 directly in your settings.

  2. Go to Account Settings

Navigate to "Responsible Gambling" or "Player Protection" within the Account Settings menu in the top-right corner of the platform.

  3. Select "Self-Exclusion"

Choose the self-exclusion option from the list of available tools. Select your preferred exclusion period: 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, or indefinite.

  4. Confirm Your Decision

Review the summary of what self-exclusion means. Confirm your decision. The exclusion activates immediately upon confirmation — no further steps are required.

  5. Receive Confirmation

A confirmation email is sent to your registered address. Your account is locked and you will be automatically logged out. Promotional communications from jjwian will also be suspended during the exclusion period.

  6. Seek Additional Support

If you feel you need help beyond self-exclusion, please read the support resources section below. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually. Knowing the early warning signs gives you the best chance to take action before things escalate. These signs apply to anyone — regardless of income, background or how long they have been gambling.

  • Spending more money or time gambling than you intended when you started
  • Trying to win back money lost in a previous session (chasing losses)
  • Borrowing money from family, friends or using savings to fund gambling
  • Lying to people you are close to about how much you gamble or have lost
  • Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when not gambling
  • Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, loneliness or other personal difficulties
  • Neglecting work, study, family or social responsibilities due to gambling
  • Failed attempts to cut down or stop gambling despite wanting to

Tips for Staying in Control

Treat gambling as entertainment with an admission price, not as a way to generate income. Never gamble with rent money, household expenses, or any funds that are already committed. Setting a strict monthly entertainment budget — for example PKR 2,000 or PKR 3,000, whatever is realistic for your situation — and applying it as a deposit limit is one of the most effective practices available.

Decide in advance how long you will play — 30 minutes, one hour — and stop when the time is up, regardless of whether you are up or down. Use the session timer tool in your account settings to send you a reminder. Taking regular breaks during sessions also helps maintain perspective.

One of the most common paths to problem gambling starts with chasing losses. If you have reached your budget limit for a session, stop — even if you feel confident you can win it back. Each bet is independent and past losses have no bearing on future outcomes. Accept the loss as the cost of the entertainment and move on.

Gambling while angry, anxious, sad or under financial pressure significantly increases the likelihood of poor decisions and overspending. If you have had a difficult day — at work, at home, or following a frustrating Pakistan cricket defeat — it is better to take a break from gambling entirely and return when you are in a calmer mindset.

If you are concerned about your own gambling or the gambling of someone close to you, talking about it is one of the most important first steps. You do not need to have a "serious problem" to talk to someone — even early concerns are worth discussing with a trusted friend, family member, or a professional support resource.

Check your account's transaction and wagering history at least once a month. Seeing your actual deposit and loss totals in PKR — rather than relying on memory or rough estimates — gives you an honest picture of your gambling activity over time. This helps you make informed decisions about whether your current limits and behaviour are sustainable.

Protecting Young People from Gambling

jjwian is strictly for adults aged 18 and over — or the higher minimum required by the operator's license jurisdiction. Underage gambling is prohibited and we actively work to prevent it.

If you share a device with younger family members — particularly relevant in shared households across Pakistan's cities — we strongly encourage you to use device-level parental control software to prevent unauthorised access to gambling platforms. Keeping your jjwian login credentials private and logging out after each session are basic but effective precautions.

If you suspect that a minor has gained access to a jjwian account — yours or otherwise — please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will act on any credible report without delay.

Local laws in Pakistan may impose restrictions on gambling participation beyond age alone. It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with applicable local legislation before using the Platform.
